IntroductionSynonym: Dennstaedtiales; Polypodiales, starting families.
Clades: Pterididae; Polypodiopsida; Pteridophyta; Plants.
Members: 53 genera; 1211 species.
Region: cosmopolitan.
Habitat: swamps, mangroves, high elevations, rain forests to deserts.
TaxonomyThe PPG1 classification this order was reduced the family Pteridaceae under the Smith classification of 2006. The Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I) places Pteridaceae, Dennstaedtiaceae and Lindsaeaceae with a few smaller families in the leptosporangiate ferns.
Related is a monophyletic clade around Lindsaeaceae with the related mono-generic families Saccolomataceae, Cystodiaceae and Lonchitidaceae.
Plant theoryIn the Plant theory Pteridales is made the only Order in Pterididae. Lindsaeaceae is extended with families Saccolomataceae, Cystodiaceae and Lonchitidaceae, and is placed in Subphase 1 of Pteridales.
Dennstaedtiaceae is placed in Subphase 7.
Pteridaceae is split in five subfamilies and placed in Subphase 2 to Subphase 5.

Chromosome number: X=30.
Leaves: edge of the lamina reflexed over.
Sori: in linear strips under the edge of the leaf tissue.
Sporangia: formed along veins; lack of true indusium.
EssenceThis personality has a problem with rules and norms of the community. This often originates in a strict upbringing with punishments, emotionally and/or physically. The parents force those rules onto their offspring out of the idea that one needs to belong to the community and thus get protection from them.
