Beta vulgaris
3-663.52.02Remedy code: 3-663.52.02A 44-year-old man, he is slender and has an athletic build, talking tired and thoughtful, reflective. When answering he often looks diagonally upwards in the space in front of him. He sleeps very poorly; he has trouble falling asleep and lies awake for hours every night. This year, after completing his training, he just started as a teacher in special education. He is often ' at his wits’ end, ‘how can I handle this all’ wondering ‘how do I keep this going’; he always sets his goal very high. He has two young children, and his wife is chronically ill and bedridden. He is busy with it, ‘we wish things were different’. Six months ago, he already felt that he was ‘on the edge’, due to the care at home, and at work the attention given to students and parents with disruptive behavior; it felt like too much. He often sat at home crying, wondering ‘Will I manage to pull it off?’ Since then he is less cheerful, irritable, bothered by noise, and has less focus. This week he can’t work anymore, sitting at home.
He speaks matter-of-factly, but not distantly; he seems aware of the pressure and the insurmountable nature of it all. His health is good; he exercises a lot, runs, and spends a lot of time outdoors. He has an ambition in sports and has a lot of energy. He studied agriculture for a year, it didn’t fit him, followed by art therapy because he actually wanted to do something socially relevant. He was a group leader for a few years, worked in psychiatry, childcare, and as a sports coach. His goal in life is the same as his parents, they were also caring and involved, did volunteer work, and focused on ensuring that others felt heard and seen. He is concerned with his surroundings, focusing on how others are doing, asking ‘Can I do something meaningful’. He sees such needs, he looks, and listens. He thinks he is sensitive to people. He finds it difficult when he makes a mistake. His father was ‘not easy’: heavy-handed in his upbringing; his mother was reserved and caring. He believes in safety; he wants to offer the children a sense of familiarity, but he is moving towards that too quickly. He hopes to be of great value at this school.AnalysisSeries 6: self, independent, helping, being significant, reflection as we know in Lanthanides.
Series 3: focused on family, children; this is the world he focuses on, as well as the burdensome factor (so it is a theme). As we know in Siliciumseries.
3-663.00.00 Caryophillidae: helping people, improving the world close by, focused on the home environment, providing care and familiarity.
3-663.50.00, Phase 5: wanting more, lots of energy, ambition, father overbearing, setting the bar high, irritable.
3-663.52.00 Phase 2: feeling powerless; the problem lies in the beginning of his work as a care provider/teacher, searching ) Phase 2) for a meaningful existence (Series 6) helping children (Series 3).
3-663.52.02 Stage 2: powerlessness (compare Strontium and Barium)
Prescription Beta vulgaris C200.follow upAfter a week, he is able to go back to work; the first day was nerve-wracking, wondering if it would go well. Sleeping is better now; he no longer lies awake for long, falls asleep easily, though he is still often awake early at 5. Usually, he goes then running outdoor t. He feels rested now and has more dreams. Work is going well now; he is calmer, cheerful again, and feels ‘I can keep this up’. At work, a day when the children are very restless, he feels dissatisfied. There is still to much to do, ‘My whole life is busy, but let’s keep it small, just school and home’ (a real Caryophillidae aspect). He remains easily irritated by sounds; but that has always been there. The months that follow go well.
