Rumex Crispus
3-663.64.08A young woman aged 23, she has severe overweight, and she is suffering from skin problems. Ten years ago, during puberty, she developed various symptoms, including weight gain and the disappearance of her menstrual cycle. She gained 30 kilos in three years. She was diagnosed with PCOS and pancreatic cysts. Medication: metformin, ximical (fat burner), which helped her lose 10 kilos. Four years ago, she had appendicitis and an appendectomy, and since then, she has had difficulty passing stools. At first, she became completely bloated, used a lot of laxatives, and needed enemas. She developed back pain and weakness in one leg, which recovered with rest, and she now works on a therapeutic basis. At the time, she had so many things going on at once, including a breakup, which affected her greatly. The palms of her hands and, to a lesser extent, her fingers and the backs of her hands are rough. When the problems started, she had a lot of headaches, and the doctors suspected a tumor, which caused a lot of uncertainty and anxiety.
At home, all the tension has been expressed for years in anger and sarcasm, outbursts. “I was in so much pain, but I didn't want to be pitied. I made myself look ridiculous, so others wouldn't do it.”
Her mother says she is hard for herself but her inner self is crying. At the time: ‘I was disgusted with myself, it was more disgust at my weight, I was so insecure, no one believes you (that a diet doesn't help), I felt powerless. So many nasty things were said, especially about my weight, by friends and acquaintances. I can get terribly angry at home. Her period has returned since she started using metformin. During her period, she retains fluid, and her stomach swells up (it feels like a clamp), and she has painful breasts beforehand. She suffers a lot from shortness of breath; it is an allergy. She inhales serotine, xysal, and nasix as medication. She has had panic attacks in the past, where she suddenly felt short of breath, had tingling fingers, and palpitations. She now works in healthcare. Her dreams are often about death, and also about ‘that ex’. She was already overweight in primary school and was on a diet. 'I always went to parties, dressed up, even though I didn't look good. I'm terrified of being alone for ever, I can't do it'. She notices her low blood sugar levels through blurred vision, feeling light-headed, and trembling. She finds her skin condition very unpleasant, which was also the reason for making an appointment: everyone can see it, and it is immediately noticeable when you shake someone's hand. She has many blisters and severe itching.
Twelve years ago, she was treated for mysophobia, which disappeared after Causticum and Eupatorium purpureum. Medication without results the past year: Erbium-metalicum (pretending, masking her identity), Collinsonia (withdrawal from social group, old tension and resentment), Lac-fellinum (aggression and protection, stubbornness as a solution). After Lac-fellinum, she has a remarkable reaction in the first week, waking up twice at 4 a.m. to defecate.AnalysisA reaction to a given medication can be an indication of the medication needed. Rumex crispus is mentioned in the section ‘waking for stool 4 a.m.’ We find confirmation of this remedy when we analyze according to Qjure.
Series 6, Lanthanides aspects: she wants to be independent, to rise above, to put herself above, autoimmune (hands, PCOS), confrontation with shadow (shadow present in her life in the form of horror, out of the group, and the anger attacks). In a remarkably mature way, she is concerned with herself and other people, but is vulnerable.
Series 3, Liliidae theme: area of tension is relationships, her family and before peers at school.
These aspects fit with the Caryophylales. 3-663.00.00
Phase 6: not fitting into the group, not enjoying it, wanting to leave. Need to ‘escape’, compare the Oxygenium aspect: disgust, feeling rejected. Partner as a theme. Intestines (rash on palms usually related to irritation in the intestinal bends).
This brings us to the Polygonaceae family, 3-663.60.00.
Phase 4: This is not so clear to me, but she radiates ‘I can handle it’ the theme of stability.
Stage 8: She tries very hard, forces herself to continue.
Prescription: Rumex-crispus MK.Follow-upWithin four hours of taking the medication, there was an outbreak: her palms were ‘like bubble wrap’, as was her neck, with a rash on top and severe itching. The next day, the rash became less thick, and then her hands began to heal. After two weeks, the skin is still thick, with cracks in it. Now she can laugh about it.
She now has sparkling eyes and charm, and is clearly feeling better about herself. Her mood is better, and she no longer has emotional outbursts. She still feels tension flaring up sometimes, usually at the dinner table, where she is the center of attention and family members make comments. Her bowel movements are irregular, and her sleep is restless. Her blood sugar is good. “I grab everything with my hands.” (‘hands on’, Stage 8 confirmation). She wants to solve everything herself (Lanthanide quality); she feels stressed when she doesn't know what to do with it. After two months, her hands peel again for a few days when she is upset because she is involved in an argument. She wanted to mediate, protect, and after she had spoken her mind, her hands were fine again. The tightness disappears. After three months, her hands are soft. “I worry less about things; I put them aside instead of getting angry.” She no longer feels comments as criticism, but adapts to the others. Her stomach is still regularly bloated after eating, and she has to lie down, she feels short of breath and panicky. This only improves over the following months and then disappears. Her weight does not change. Ten years later, I see her again with two healthy children.
