Myosotis arvensis
3-665.33.15A fifteen-year-old girl accompanied by her mother; she has long blonde hair; she sits very upright until the conversation is over, and there is some small talk, only then does she relax, and her face softens. She is gentle, pale, and cautious. She reads from a piece of paper; she regularly uses that paper to ‘turn away’ for a moment and keep the contact at a distance: ‘I have a whole list. When I have the hiccups, my diaphragm really hurts; it can happen three times a day and lasts from 5 minutes to an hour. It’s quite loud; if I keep my mouth open, it hurts less. I’ve had the hiccups since elementary school.”
She had sharp pains for a month on the left side below her ribs, which radiated to the side; the pain would come on suddenly and be very intense for a moment, then subside. She then has to find a different position, after which the pain subsides within 10 minutes. She burps loudly very often, at all sorts of times. For example, during a presentation, doubting if she did it right.
Last month, she strained a muscle in her right hand near the thumb. School: She studies woodworking and furniture making. She’s active in handball—she plays it fanatically and often catches herself after a dive. Mother: She’s fierce during sport; she has an angry look—it’s a personal battle for her. For years, she’s had a sore spot under her foot near the heel. Her lower back hurts when she’s cold. At home, she always takes off her shoes and socks. She sweats a lot; it pours from her armpits, sometimes smelly. She gets angry quickly, but isn’t quite sure why; after telling that, she glances at her mother, and mothers thumb goes up (apparently, they’ve talked about it, and she dares to say it herself). Angry, that is to say: not using the “nicest language,” she slams doors hard and walks away. She stomps upstairs to her room; afterward, she’s either relieved or very sad. Even as a child, you could see her withdrawing, tensing up when angry. She’s quick to anger (even as a child toward people on the street); she would throw things, like tomatoes. She also lies easily over nothing. She’d rather be left alone, not “have to” do anything. As she tells this, she has twitches around her mouth. She struggles with the chaos at home, the large family. She likes to be in her own world, in her fantasy; being pulled out of it is “the angry world,” her mother explains. Fantasy: It’s hard for me to explain; she swallows a few times, It’s like a movie I’m in, where I know what I want, what I like. I get into that state very quickly when I do something, especially when reading a book.
Mother: You never really connect with her right away; it’s as if she’s always somewhere else. She reads fantasy stories and watches Disney movies. High school went well; elementary school was a busy class. She was a quiet girl back then. She likes going to the zoo and walking around there. She has noticeable pimples on her face and back, which have been there for two years. She doesn’t get sick easily, and she never catches a cold. She sleeps well. Dreams: princesses, highwaymen.AnalysisStage 15: She is gentle, reserved; so striking is her loud burping, indicating tension—an explosion, also evident in her emotions, such as anger. Bursting out, explosions fits Stage 15.
Phase 3: Reserved, uncertain, adaptable, sensitive to impressions (compare this to the Malvales, also Phase 3).
Silver Series, Series 5: her studies has to do with creation, imagination, and her own world as well. Presentation as a theme, this heightens the tension.
The striking gentleness in her appearance and behavior fits Boraginales, known for the use of imagination, yet fitting within reality. Stepping behind. Doubt after she has done something, building tension. It was notable that during the consultation she sat stiffly upright (‘presentation’), and only afterward did she relax and adopt a supple posture; at that moment, the color drained from her face, the redness subsided, and the rash seemed to have disappeared.
Based on Boraginales, Stage 15, you find Myositis arvensis.
Prescription: Myositis arvensis MK.Follow-up after three weeks. The hiccups stopped the very next day; now she only has small burps. The injury no longer bothers her. During the first three weeks, she is much more tired at the end of the day, saying, “I want to go to bed,” but then she goes to bed and reads happily. She no longer has stabbing pains in her abdomen, though she does have more flatulence now. The hiccups now occur for a few minutes every two or three days and no longer cause pain. She no longer has any sore spots under her feet, and her mood is good now. She is less angry; it’s not as bad when she loses her temper. Her mother thinks she is more aware of it now and therefore doesn’t let it get out of hand. You can ask questions now; there aren’t always objections anymore. Her facial skin seems calmer, though that’s always been variable. She’s sweating less, though; she no longer feels a trickle running down her armpit for no reason. After this weeks, no more complaints.
