655.10.00 CrossosomatalesBotany: ± 6 families, ± 12 genera.
TaxonomyThis is a recent order in the Apg3 classification, belonging to the Malvidae. The members were formerly placed in very different families, mostly Staphyleaceae. Picramniales is another Order in Malvidae, closely related to Crossosomatales.
In the Plant theory they are tentatively placed as Phase 1, as it is the first diverging lineage of the Malvidae. Picramniales with one Family Picramniaceae maybe has to be placed here too. Little is known about these plants in homeopathy. Division into Subphases is difficult at this level of development.
Crossosomatales is quite diverse, making it difficult to discern as one clade. Such diversity is often the case in Phase 1, as if the plants have not found the form of the Subclass yet. What is striking is the association in the past with other Orders in Phase 1 like Celastrales and Dilleniales. Division into Subphases is tentative, due to lack of information about the homeopathic pictures.
