A woman of 35 years of age has endometriosis. The diagnosis was made recently, but she has had menstrual problems since her menarche. Before menses it’s a drama: she has backache, nodules in her breasts, abdominal pain, leucorrhea, fatigue and sadness. Before her first operation her abdominal pain was so severe that she crawled over the floor. She wants to sleep and is chilly. The menses are dark with clots. She was at one stage operated on for endometriosis.
She is angry with her mother. She was not allowed to feel what she feels and think what she thinks. She was never allowed to be angry. Her mother was always making comments and criticisms. She had to adapt to her mother. She felt unsafe. She had the feeling that she was bad, just not good enough. Her mother cared well for her physically, but not emotionally. Her mother was fonder of others, such as her sister. She asked herself if it would ever stop: ”Why does my mother do this to me and not towards the others?”. She felt very lonely. In the family a lot happened under the surface. She had an inner life, which she did not show to the outer world. She felt socially isolated, with the idea that she would be rejected if she were to show too much. She felt different from others because of her interest in paranormal things.
She has a fear of hurting people, a fear of hurting or killing her daughter. At the same time she’s thinking that she does not deserve such a nice child. She can be angry when people walk over her emotionally.
Dream: a snake wants to bite and capture her.
Dream: a group of young racist people want to hurt someone, one of them stabbed her in the heart.
Dreams: ghosts.
Dream: a boy wants to enter her body, but she doesn't want it [in reality that boy was killed by lightning].
Regression: she was a man in Mongolia, the son of the Khan from his former marriage; he got a love affair with the wife of the Khan, his father, and got a child with her; when the Khan came back he feared his revenge and killed his beloved wife and his child.
Impression of a clairvoyant: something negative from outside this world is trying to enter her head; she doesn't feel loved' which results in grief, anxiety and aggressive impulses.
Cystitis, bloody urine, bloody stool.Coughing.
Allergy: cats, dogs, horses and milk.
Time: < 3 pm.
Aversion: meat.
AnalysisThere are many indications for muriaticum. There’s a strong mother theme. And the main complaints of dysmenorrhea and endometriosis fit in with that.
She felt a bad person. This is a strong indication for
Thulium. That was due to her mother, which indicates the muriaticum. Combined this leads to
Thulium muriaticum.
The
Lanthanides as a group are already indicated by her strong spiritual tendency.
ConfirmationsLanthanides: -> spirituality, feeling different, staying in her own world, angry when people walk over her, <- meat.
Gold series: impulse or fear to kill.
Thulium: ghost, negative, bad.
DD: Snakes, Naja, Folliculinum, Sepia.Follow upAfter
Thulium muriaticum MK, she gradually felt better and better. The first day she had a headache and had to lie down with nausea. After that she started feeling better, her ear pain improved, her allergies and neck pain became better. Her anxiety has diminished by 30%, which for her is the difference between sleeping and not sleeping. Her anxiety about being influenced by ghost-like negative energies is much less.
After a year she is doing much better. Her anxieties have gone and she feels better with her mother. Her complaints are greatly diminished. Her quality of life has risen from 40 to 70. Before the treatment she had "no quality of life due to her depression". In general her complaints are gone for about 75 to 80%. Her sleep is better, her depression and fear for her own aggression have diminished.
Her menstrual pains and neck complaints are not completely gone yet.

Cadmium phosphoricum,

Ranunculus flammula, Thea, Muriaticum acidum and

CommentThis case is one of the many out of the first years of my practice which show the over prescribing of the polychrests and waiting too long. Pulsatilla, Lycopodium,
Calcium carbonicum and
Graphites were prescribed on a very slender foundation and gave just a bit of palliation only. Many cases like this have led me to look at other remedies, in the past often called “small' or 'local'.
