Introduction
They feel central in the family and friends, which give them safety but also responsibility. They have contradicting feelings of at one hand being okay and on the other hand being bad. They try to cover up their feeling of having a low, instinctual and sexual nature by keeping up the appearances. They feel they have a right of being accepted but easily fear being excluded as unattractive or dirty. They have a duality of feeling an outsider and on the other hand a desire to really belong to the family. They work hard to achieve that position but underneath the feeling of being an outsider is often stronger.

Group member
Become part of the group is very important. They fear being or becoming a side figure, an outcast. They fear being excluded, belittled and seen as unattractive unfriendly, having no worth.
Often they do not want to talk about things with their parents. They have to do it on their own, want to be adults who can take care of their own life, even when they can’t.
Closed
They are discovering their emotions. That is a difficult thing and not easy to talk about. They fear to be excluded when they show or express their emotions and thus have a tendency to suppress them, even to go so far that they do not know them anymore. Hence the hysterical aspects, the expression of emotions by physical complaints. This suppression can give a problem in the consultations, especially when it is about sexual matters. Also later in life issues of love and sex are problematic to talk about, it makes one weak and vulnerable.
