Taxonomy
Lamiales is a big order in the Apg3 classification a big order with 23 families. Lamiales is a combination of the Orders of Lamiales, Scrophulariales and Plantaginales of the Cronquist system.
In the Plant theory Oleaceae is split off from Lamiales and placed in Rubiales, Phase 4 and Subphase 6. This does not affect the monophyly of both clades.
Verbenales are split off from Lamiales. Verbenales is a monophyletic clade in Lamiales. Lamiales then becomes polyphyletic. Lamiales is placed in Phase 5. Verbenales is placed in Phase 6.
