A girl of 16 years, was treated for severe migraine which disappeared after Eupatorium-perfoliatum. After a year, she comes to tell me that things are going well, sometimes there is still a headache, but it is manageable. It is quicker to pass, but there are still days that she has to stay home. It is now once every 4-6 weeks (previously 3-4 times per week for three years!), then she wakes up with it, takes miginal, and sleeps a lot. The migraine has always been on the right, she is nauseous all the time and a bit dizzy. After that, she is fit and clear. With regular headaches, she can go to school. Too little sleep has no effect (which the mother suggests). Stress has no effect, school and busyness do give the feeling of not being able to oversee it anymore. She speaks independently, with a soft voice. She is still not fit, there remains fatigue. So far, father always came along, as overbearing and extremely protective, which was the reason to give Eupatorium at the time. Mother now says that sometimes she feels restless in her head, and then she can't fall asleep well. In the last months, it has become noticeable that she cries quickly and gets angry quickly. Mother: "I think, that's my opinion, that she indicated it earlier. Afraid that it won't go well. Always wanting to do it perfectly." The caution with which the mother expresses this and the insight, indicates a great involvement and also a cautious approach, giving space to the daughter who, although she comes across as gentle and like a ball of wool, apparently can also be hurt and explode. Mother works as a social worker, that's also the way she looks; involved but also an emotional distance in the form of a very thin vacuum. The large pupils are striking, she has strong lenses which has to do with a familial deviation of the optic nerve. In comparison with previous years, things are much better, but she is still the first in the family to get sick when something is going around. Still tired, since group 8. At that time, her eyesight deteriorated very quickly. We find it going so well, that we almost forgot how it was before with her. Mother also takes a lot on her plate, finds it difficult to put things into perspective, likes to keep things in control, and wants to help, for friends. School: boring, you learn too little. What is fun: shopping, drawing, meeting friends. There is no more fever. Absorbs a lot. The 'mood swings', and the anger are new, it arises suddenly for both.
Analysis
What is playing now: emotions, sudden, explosive behavior. The deterioration of the eye is striking, this often happens in that growth period, but it can have consequences. School and friends appear to play a major role in hindsight. With the migraine, she often couldn't go to school, which may have caused her not to fit into the group well. This could be a cause a precipitating factor, or simply a burdening factor. What was told earlier: at home a lot of attention goes to her handicapped brother, who has major psychological problems. Powerless towards the situation at home, she often received less or no attention and never complained. Stage 14 theme; it is what it is, there is nothing to be done. She is creative, explosive, focused on friends, early puberty phase: Labiaceae. Stage 14 as cause, towards theme and atmosphere. Family is very creative, the father is a visual artist (Clade 5), the Compositae theme plays a major role in the form of 'pain', (Gold series), the father has a metabolic disease, the brother is seriously ill: aware of shadow, through her complaint at school 'being alone', due to the attention given to her sister at home as well; Lanthanides theme, this can be seen in Clade 6.
Because a part of the complaint remains, because fatigue still plays a remarkably large role (more than you can attribute to the remnant headache), a new or additional remedy is likely. The fatigue and resignation (it's okay anyway, it's already better than it was) and the powerlessness as a theme fit with Stadium 14, with which all aspects of her story fall within one remedy. Phase 5 fits with wanting to do fun things, enjoy. Cold series: Lanthanides theme, developing independence.
Phase 5: explosive, Lamiales: wanting to belong to the group, being aware of or becoming aware of your appearance, adapting your behavior to the group culture.
Lamiales: want to belong to the group, explosive, outgoing.
Stage 14: accepting it, there is nothing to be done, inevitable.
Prescription Vitex agnus castus C200.
Follow up after six weeks: no migraine at all during this whole period, but one time she was dizzy, a cold shower helped (it's a summer with a heatwave, so they called for advice). An old complaint returning, seeing stars, she has had that twice in one week now. One-time she had a headache, not severe. There has been busyness because of a birthday and a few days away with friends, that went well. Sleeps well. 'That anger, I don't have that any more', mother adds: she is not emotional anymore, but occasionally angry. The restlessness in the head: that's less, she has it better organized. She now makes lists herself, there is no panic anymore. Energy: rested in the morning, tired in the evening (healthy tiredness, there is recovery at night). She started running again, every other day ('don't tell' she comes in between to tell mother). There has been no fever or virus. Menstruation has no problems, not yet regular. After three month she comes across well and relaxed, her voice has dropped a bit, now melodious instead of soft to whisper. No more complaints. She is just 16 years old now. Father: she has changed so much, how she is present, how she behaves. By nature, she is very modest, and sensitive, the change seems to have come at the expense of this calm in a few points. She is now more present, she is going to make more of an impression on the environment, occasionally bold, expressing her ideas. She is more positive toward her father, school, and friends. According to her idea, she was already like that before the migraine came, the migraine started when she was 13. Energy is good. Falls asleep well, waking up rested, she has never had that before!
Qjure: placement at 3-665.64.16 In my experience, with the Verbenales, resignation is more prominent, here we see unrest, a wanting to go further but not being able to. The Lamiales theme, as strongly present in the Lamiaceae, is also clearly present here. With the new classification according to Qjure, in contrast to the classification from Wonderful Plants, you would end up with Scuttellaria (more known for physical fatigue).
