Botany: Indonesia; short-stemmed palm; leaves up to 6 metres long; 2-metre long petiole, spines up to 15 centimetres long, numerous leaflets; fruit in clusters at the base of the palm, reddish-brown scaly skin, size and shape of fig, edible.
Use: fruit sweet and acidic.
