Geranium robertianum
3-653.14.08653.13.08 Geranium robertianum, CaseWoman, 40, fatigue.
A woman of 40 lacks energy. It also has to do with a lack of sleep, she is frequently awake in the night, especially between two and three am. She has frequent maxillary sinusitis, which comes after coryza and is not influenced by steam. She feels sad and tired. She has vertigo, worse from motion and turning in bed. She has pains in her neck and shoulders extending to her head.
Five years earlier she had a period of that too, a feeling of being light in her head, faintness and palpitations. She has vertigo, a kind of waves in her head, worse from motion, especially fast motion and better focussing on one point. Her heartbeat is very fast and throbbing, 120 beats a minute. Two years later she had a similar situation and was taken to hospital.
The complaints had to do with problems in her marriage. She lived with the idea that her marriage was always good. But suddenly her husband said that it was nothing anymore and a month later he was gone. She struggled hard over it, kept on talking and talking and proposed relationship therapy. But he did not want that. After he left they had problems making agreements about the split. The whole situation was a blow to her self-confidence; in the beginning she even did not want to live anymore, thinking what’s the point of living on. But she continued for her daughter of 12 years.
She started psychotherapy after the divorce. But she felt lack of self-worth, as if she had failed. It was worse because she hadn’t noticed before that things were going wrong, that she did not talk about it. She felt put aside like a piece of old garbage, feeling that she had done wrong. She felt discarded and dumped. In general her attitude is to be helping other people, not putting herself in the foreground but putting herself aside, in the background. With this behaviour she liked and expected to get compliments, to get support, to get confirmations that she had done well. She is a perfectionist, wants to do everything as well as she can, which is not always easy. It makes her feel hurried, under pressure, inadequate and unsuccessful.
She was the youngest of four children, an afterthought. Her self-confidence was not that good because her parents said that she did not do very well. Most of the family members had studied and were doctors like her father. The parents said that she had to prove herself at university. But she did not like to study, she wanted to become a midwife. She was not a studying type and had to work hard at high school. In puberty she quarreled with her parents, wanted to go her own way and go out.
She felt misunderstood and not heard, so she started scolding and quarreling, smashing doors. She had the feeling it was never cosy at home, her father was always working and never back for dinner. So she liked to go to friends who had a normal family where their father was present.GeneralsWeather: < change of air pressure, which gives a headache; thunderstorm gives headaches; cold weather causes dry skin on her hands with cracks.
Desire: everything, shrimps, beef.
Aversion: organ meat, liver, beans.
