The name means the core good dicotyledons.
Clades: Angiospermae; Plants.
Botany: flowers pentacyclic; parts alternating; calyx and corolla free; gynoecium connate; androecium polyandrous; pollen tricolporate.
Content: ellagic acids, gallic acids.
Taxonomy
In the Apg4 classification Core eudicots is a monophyletic clade in Angiospermae. Core eudicots is the biggest clade of the Eudicots. Only the following orders are excluded from Eudicots: Ranunculales, Proteales, Trochodendrales and Buxales.
Plant theory
In the Plant theory Eudicots is not a clade. It contains the Fabanae, Malvanae and Asteranae.
