Introduction
They have a strong feeling of having two poles. At one hand they feel very good, special, intelligent and remarkable. At the other hand they feel stupid, dirty, and worth nothing. As a child they feel they cannot fulfil the expectations of their parents in respect to relationships and education. As a parent they cannot fulfil their own expectation and thus feel a worthless parent.
The situation can arise form a divorce where the children feel split between the parents. Or where they feel the family image has broken down.
