Region: eastern calcareous Alps in Italy, Austria and Yugoslavia.
Herb; perennial; forms mats.
Leaves: in rosettes; handsome, lime-encrusted; strap-shaped, slightly recurving; 3 to 8 cm long; with blunt toothing.
Flower stems up to 30 cm high carrying panicles of numerous flowers.
Flowers: plain or red-spotted; creamy-white; petals 5 to 8 mm long petals.
