In old classifications like Cronquist, Saxifragales is often placed near Rosales, with which they have superficial similarities. In the Apg3 classification Saxifragales is related to the Rosidae.
In the Plant theory the Saxifragales are a Subclass of the Class Malvanae. They from their own Subclass Saxifragidae, which has one Order, Saxifragales.
They have the emphasis on the Carbon series.
Introduction
