Pteridales;
Pterididae;
Polypodianae;
Pteridophyta;
Plants.

Plant theoryThe families Cystodiaceae,
Lonchitidaceae and Saccolomataceae are small and have each have only one genus. In the
Plant theory these families are included in the family
Lindsaeaceae. This extended Lindseaceae is still monophyletic. It is placed is
Subphase 1.
TaxonomyFor more than a century,
Lindsaeaceae were considered part of the
Davalliaceae. Then
Lindsaeaceae began to be transferred to the
Dennstaedtiaceae. Molecular data supported the separation of
Lindsaeaceae into its own family, among the most basic of the families in the order
Polypodiales.
Lindsaeaceae forms a monophyletic clade with the small families Cystodiaceae and
Lonchitidaceae, named Lindsaeineae. When the small family Saccolomataceae is added the clade is still monophyletic.
