Region: Cameroon to Ethiopia.
Content: tannin 3,4,5-tri-O-galloylquinic acid.
TaxonomyEngler and placed Lepidobotrys staudtii in 1902 in the family Linaceae. It was regarded as an anomaly and during the 20th century, was assigned to various families, Oxalidaceae.
Later it was placed in its own family Lepidobotryaceae.
