Iron series is with the community, the tribe, the village. The community they live in is seen as part of them, or they are part of that community. The people outside of the community are easily seen as strange, foolish, dangerous, or even as enemies.
Task Work DutyIn the community, everyone has his own function, his own trade, and through this job he earns a living and receives acknowledgement for his contribution to the community. The job, task or duty is their contribution to the community. They may have a trade, like being a baker, a butcher, a carpenter. They carry out their specialised tasks.
Skills Craft Technique Perfectionism Useful Practical Order Rules
In order to carry out their task they have to have certain skills, which they have to learn through training. They like perfection. Their sense of duty increases the drive to precision and perfectionism. They are very practical and pragmatic. They mostly have practical jobs, handwork. They are the craftsmen who repeat the same actions. They like everything to be in order. They need to have things well defined and bound by rules and regulations. It is a routine.
Control RigidityThey feel they have to keep checking all the time to see whether things are up to standard. This control may result in a suppression of feelings and rigidity. Or the exact opposite may occur, and they may feel that they will be controlled by other people.
Observed CriticisedTheir perfectionism arises from the feeling that others in the community will see and value what they do. If they make things that are not good enough they will quickly be spoken of in the tribe or village, and that will affect their position in the village. They want to be normal, just as everyone else. Failure Fault Guilt Crime Pursued PoliceThe sense of duty can easily lead to a fear that they can’t fulfil their task. The more mistakes they make, the more restless they become. Even minor mistakes can be seen as complete failures. They feel hurried and they try even harder to avoid mistakes. Later, it may provoke feelings of guilt. Not only have they failed, but they know they could and should have done better, so they are also guilty. The feeling of guilt can, in extreme situations, take the form of a sensation as if they have committed a crime. This makes them feel persecuted as if the police are hot on their heels, the law is just about to catch up with them.
AdolescenceThe age belonging to this series is that of young adulthood. Adolescence is the time of attending college, a time of learning and exams. It is the time of choosing the direction you want to go in, choosing your profession and undergoing the training.
