Case by Maarten van der Meer
A woman of 44, she has dark eyes, and she comes across as warm and intense when in conversation, outside on the street she always seems aloof as if sitting on an island looking from a distance at the world right around her. The year before she was given Euphrasia, because of menses complaints and burnout, she snapped, went back to work, became calmer, things improved emotionally, and she was less gloomy but many complaints remained. She often sagged through the left groin again, there is a connection between stress and wrong movements when doing sports. Now there is work stress, she has another job, psychic health care, sometimes with aggression but she is happy with it. She wants to earn her own money. It is a nice job, but her husband now has to do more for the children and housework, he is not used to that. It gave so much friction, and for a while, she thought: I'll throw in the towel, it felt like failure, and she had to cry a lot. She always did everything alone in the family, she feels his “sighing,” he has to adjust, but she thinks he should do something too sometimes. Things have been wrong for weeks now. She has always surrendered more and more, now it is time to develop herself. Hormonal she is a time bomb, with more and more PMS. At home it is hectic, the kids make noise, and she is easily piqued. When she gets annoyed: bam! Afterward, she feels guilty. From the family doctor, she gets painkillers. The pain in the hip is burning, stabbing, and radiates from the hip to her leg, walking is fine, until she suddenly falls through. Sleep is fine, she has many dreams: and worries, “If the car gets in the water, will the children know what to do?”, or things don't work out (in dreams a car fits with your physical energy, the children the future and water the emotions, so in her dreams she worries her condition and situation). She finds it exciting when she has to ask for time to herself, she gives up a lot of freedom, the evenings, with girlfriends, and the weekends away. Her husband sees her as the main caregiver for the children, then says 'You wanted children'. She doesn't find that justice, she has a life too! The pain is a ten year old trauma from the pregnancies, after she started exercising a lot last year it got worse. Now she also begins to cry: 'I plodded with the children, my husband was not there, I got sciatica and have been depressed' (this is still in her eyes). This pain reminds her of the period when things were not going well in the relationship, at the time she went crazy with pain, she felt guilty, lost her job, followed by a lawsuit, she could not give the children attention, all this time her partner was not: ‘solve it yourself’. The stress now, last year: a new job, she feels fitter than ever, but her husband is stressed because of her new work rhythm, he was not to be enjoyed, like a cactus that stings, that's how the atmosphere is: 'everyone holds his heart, he gets ailments, she has a big child with him'. She just adapts again. She needs a lot of freedom and is stressed when she can't do what she wants. As she gets older, it's more and more, the straitjacket gives tension. She is frustrated that her husband doesn't see all she does, keeping all the balls high, she wants that appreciation. She has always made his comfort, but now she asks for some herself. She has been doing spiritual development, and awareness of the meaning of life for some time. She is quite feisty at home and makes herself heard. After Alpinia, the pain got worse (chosen on the theme of the Liliidae pelvis (the pain) versus head (the restlessness), the drive, wanting more, of Phase 5, and the persistence and caring of Stage 11).
Analysis
Theme pain, and independence, as a burdening factor and as a driving factor are clues appropriate to Gold series. Work is a theme: a burdening factor but also the solution, her being independent, getting things done at home are aspects of Iron series. This brings us to the Ericidae, known by the keywords appropriate in this case, “tackle, roll up your sleeves, get to work. Phase 5 emerges strongly: wanting more, wanting further, experiencing pressure, wanting freedom, outbursts, and the tense situation at home. Phase 3 emerges in not being strong enough, the hip gives in, adjusting, and caving in both as a strength (resolving ability) and a burden, so it is a theme. Together this interpretation gives the family of the Theaceae. Forcing, Stage 8: both worsening hip pain and “keeping all the balls high” for years. Qjure search with search terms 'left hip' and Subphase 3 and Stage 8 also gives Camellia sinensis, synonymous with Thea sinensis, the tea plant. A Phase is recognizable in the 'ground layer,' the base from which a person feels and lives, the capacity, where a person feels good. Above this, making more visible the Subphase, contrasting or complementing the Phase. On top of this is visible the Stage, the action, taking action, and directing oneself (whether by choice or not or forced by circumstances).Thea is appropriate at the hip, the forcing (Stage 8) of connective tissue (capsules, ligaments are appropriate at Iron series), which inflames and hurts (Gold series). In addition, much of the theme can be recognized in her attitude in life, striving for and needing independence, and self-development, with as a complement, coloring or even “splitting” the practical, her task of Iron series.
Prescription: Camellia sinensis C200.
Follow up
After taking it she was very gruff to visitors, she had no patience, and she was embarrassed about it. The next day she suddenly had much more peace in her body, more patience. The menses came a week later, with no pain and little flow, no emotional swings or outbursts. The pain in the hip is still there at times, the pain has literally 'subsided', less in the hip, the radiation in the groin is gone but now more in the lower leg, she still feels it with bending and with cycling. The first two months it still feels 'tight' at the hip, laterally. She wants to get rid of menses and is considering hormones, imagine the irregularity, then she is out of her fun life, she wants to be able to plan, a weekend away or a night out. She looks forward to the transition. Sleep is good, she dreams a lot. At home things are going well, she doesn't get annoyed anymore, and tasks can better divided now. The theme of Phase 5 is now clearly expressed, wanting to do fun things, and aspiring for freedom. She is still intensely engaged in spiritual questions and development. After three months, the pain is permanently gone, and she continues to feel well.
