Case by Jan Scholten.
Boy, 10, autism. He is autistic and his speech is limited to words like ‘mummy’ and ‘no’. He is mentally retarded. He has no interest in drawing, writing and paper. He likes to be physical like running, jumping and wrestling and he likes to be tickled. He tends to pinch and scratch his mother, but has no idea that this hurts her. He is aggressive when frustrated or forced into things. He can also vent his anger on himself by banging his head against his bed or the wall, biting his hands, or scratching his head.
He is the third of three boys. His pregnancy was good, with no unusual events. But his mother had problems with his father being depressed because of worries about his work and finances. His mother thought this was excessive and they had many fights with each other. After his birth, they fought a lot over their child's health condition. His delivery became a caesarean section because the brother before him also had a caesarean section. In childbirth, his mother had severe headaches because of the lumbar anaesthesia. She was disappointed that he was a boy instead of a girl.
He was breastfed until the sixth month. He often had scratch marks on his hands that were difficult to heal. He regularly felt bad when he was constipated. His toilet training has always been very difficult and he still needs a nappy at night. He tends to defecate anywhere just like that, for instance in the playground. He has also had a period of seizures where he was unconscious and stopped breathing. It usually occurred with a fever. An EEG yielded no peculiarities.
He is in a school, but he hates therapy. He only wants to do what he wants to do himself. He dislikes learning, which can sometimes be improved with promises and coercion. He does not make contact with other children, he merely observes them. But he can bite them if they take away his toys. His cousins are scared of him and not interested in him because he no longer plays them. He is very restless and is jumping around a lot, for jumping on the trampoline. He shouts loudly but cannot stand noise from others and he then covers his ears. He is very chaotic. But he likes to sculpt things that need to be balanced and then he is very organised. He is very fond of his blue trucks. His comprehension is limited, and he hates to clarify himself using a book of pictures. He dislikes having his nails and hair cut. He likes to be naked when he is at home and stressed. His moods are highly variable and unpredictable, sometimes ending and aggression attacks. He can be mischievous and laugh wickedly. He feels easily abandoned. He likes affection and hugs, but in doing so he is very fierce and intense and not gentle. He likes to travel in a car but sometimes he is scared then. He likes to take a bath to play with water but does not want his head washed.
His mother can sometimes force him to stop his head-bobbing, for instance, but then he tends to bite and scratch her. His father is very disappointed in him. He feels helpless with him, and does not play with him at all. He is very orderly and cannot stand his son's chaos. He sees him as a curse. His mother is stressed and disappointed in his father because she has to bear the burden and weight of their son and his illness alone. He is very attached to his grandparents and there he feels loved.
There are serious problems in the family and grandparents such as depression, schizophrenia, dementia and suicidal tendencies. In World War II, there were problems with hunger and poverty. One grandmother wanted to hang herself when she was unmarried and pregnant.
He had several alternative treatments that diagnosed intestinal dysbiosis. A hair test showed elevated levels of lead, mercury, and aluminium. Regular and alternative treatments have had no effect so far.
GeneralSleep: light, alternating with deep; he wants to be totally bedded in total darkness, because he feels bad.
Preferences: fried and deep-fried foods such as chips.
AnalysisThe autism with retardation points or ferns: 3-400.00.00. It is confirmed with his lack of contact, he has no contact with other children and cousins.
There are many symptoms of Carbon series: toilet training very difficult; dislike nails and hair being cut.
Stage 7 is evident by: mother disappointed in boy; rejected by his father; aggressive; lack of empathy; resentful; feeling abandoned.
He goes his own way without real contact with others, such as defecating in the playground. This indicates Stage 16.
Prescription: Selaginella stauntoniana, 3-422.17.16.
Follow upAfter Selaginella stauntoniana C200, he progresses significantly. His tantrums are rare. His sleep is better and he falls asleep more easily. He no longer wets his bed and has much more control over his bladder. He now does his defecation on the toilet and is happy with that. He is much more patient and easier with traveling. At school the teacher says he has made huge progress, he is more social and calm and he is happy to go to school and also makes better contact with other children and now holds their hands from time to time. He is more inclined to participate with shared games. His speech is not great but he is using more words. He does have his hand nails cut now. It is the best summer they have had with him. He is much more emotionally stable and more present and has more interest in other children.
Paesia scaberula and Anemia rotundifolia had no effect. Anemia mandioccana and Selaginella vogelii had given temporary amelioration. Lygodium japonicum gave a temporary exacerbation.
