IntroductionEnglish: Cheilanthoid ferns.
Clades: Pteridaceae; Pteridales; Pterididae; Polypodianae; Pteridophyta; Plants.
Members: 6 genera: Anogramma, Cryptogramma, Eriosorus, Hemionitis, Jamesonia, Pityrogramma.
Habitat: primarily epipetric; semiarid.
Plant theoryCheilanthoideae is a subfamily of the Pteridaceae. In the Plant theory it is placed in Subphase 3 of the Pteridales, with confirmation from cases.
BotanyFerns.
Leaves: mostly with well-developed scales or trichomes; often bipinnate or otherwise highly compound.
Sporangia: mostly borne in marginal sori with false indusia that are +/- continuous around the leaf margins.
