Ammannia senegalensis
English: Copper leaf ammania.
Region: western Senegal.
Habitat: weed in rice paddies; prefer much light; grow quickly in the right conditions; grow emerse if the water is shallow enough; ideal water conditions are soft and acidic, good iron micronutrient.
Botany
Leaves: opposite; green and rather broad, later more narrow and reddish; more red under intense light.
Flowers: inconspicuous; axillary of emerse plants.
