655.26.06 Daphne indica, CaseWoman, 45, dysmenorrhea.
During menses she has violent pains in her uterus, as if she is torn in two, as if a truck has run over her. It is better lying on her abdomen on a hot bottle, on her arms. She has backache extending to her legs, worse from lying and better standing. She feels weak and like fainting, suicidal from the pain. Her breasts are painful and swollen before menses. The complaints started at the first menses. She felt better during her pregnancies.
She has arthritis, in her ankles, back but mostly her hands. She has loss of power in her hands and often drops things. It is worse from freezing weather and snow. It feels as if her fingers are twisted off.
Her mother was cold, domineering, often beating her in her face, telling her that she was incapable, knowing nothing. Her mother demanded remorse and an apology after she had been defiant. Her younger sister often accused her when something had gone wrong.
As a child she was awkward, had an aversion to sport. At school she was not accepted by the others, scolded as stupid. She was sad, loathing life. She tried to do her best in the household and at school to be valued. When she studied medicine she went home every weekends to do the housework. She wanted to study art but was not allowed to her parents.
