2.7.11 Stage 11, Terbium: Eumaeus and Telemachus
After a day the ship reaches Ithaca and Odysseus goes ashore. He meets Eumaeus, the swineherd, who has protected Odysseus 'possessions during his absence. Everyday he has brought a swine to the palace for the suitors of Penelope, but he still has 360 swine left. Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, arrives after a trip to Nestor and Menelaus. Athena tells Odysseus to assume his own form and be known to Telemachus.
Eumaeus is the keeper of Odysseus' kingdom. Keeping, maintaining is a keyword for Stage 11. Eumaeus means summon (maio) the good (= eu). This reminds one of the gentleman qualities of Terbium.
