The phenomenon of colors is defined by the electromagnetic wavelengths of visible light. Each color has a specific wavelength. Sometimes a specific color is very satisfying to look at or it can trigger an aversion whereas other colors may leave the same person cold. The resonance of a person with a certain wavelength makes color useful in homeopathy, like a definite modality. It is like an open window to the emotions. It needs no system of thought or explanation or other intermediate construct. It is pure and direct. Color preference corresponds to the basic emotional mood. It gives us, as it were, the “wavelength the person is disposed to.”
We have therefore created a standardized color table by which one can define such colors with sufficient precision and use it as a repertory. It is advisable to read the textbook “Colors in Homeopathy”, which contains the repertory and the explanations how to use it. And to work with the color in practice you need the “Color Charts”. It is the daily tool to ascertain the colors.
The color symptom has meanwhile reached such a level of maturity through numerous clinical observations that it has achieved the status of a keynote for hundreds of remedies. It can thereby make a decisive contribution to the secure choice of an effective remedy.
“I think and feel that the color symptom it is of vast importance. It is at the interface of awareness between the hard core of standard anamnesis and the energetic reality of the disturbance in the field. It is one that every homeopath is able to grasp. The only condition is that the choice of color should be evident. It also sharpens the sensitive awareness of both practitioner and client.”
