In the Apg3 classification there is a group of Tribes that are called the Lower Epidendroids. The Tribes are Sobraliinae, Neottieae, Palmorchideae, Tropidieae, Diceratosteleae, Triphoreae, Nervilieae, Xerorchideae. The clade is polyphyletic.
In the Plant theory the clade is called Neottioideae. Neottioideae is in Subphase 7 of the Orchidales. As such they are at the level of Family and could be named Neottiaceae.
