Botany: 2 genera, Gelsemium, Mostuea; 11 species; tropical; South America, Africa, Madagascar, Asia; climbers; stigmas divided; flowers heterostylous, yellow-white corollas, superior ovaries; leaves without stipules.
TaxonomyGelsemium has in the past been incorporated in the Loganiaceae. The Apg3 classification has made it clear that it should be in its own family, in the order Gentianales.
