English: Lacy ground fern.
Region: eastern Australia, central Queensland south through eastern New South Wales, Victoria southwest.
Habitat: prefers some shelter, full shade, a moisture retentive, rich soil; easily damaged by wind and sun; lower storey; in humid rainforest gullies.
Ecology: attacked by green caterpillars.
BotanyFern; 60 to 150 cm high.
Leaves: delicate; lacy; broad; mid to dark green; divided 3-4 times; segments asymmetrical running into midrib, deeply and obliquely lobed; midribs shiny red-brown, with narrow groove between prominent ridges.
Sori: round spore cases; covered by flap of margin on one side and inner membrane to produce cup-like structure.
