Taxonomy
In the Apg3 system Portulacaceae is a Family in the Order Cryophyllales. Several genera were moved to Montiaceae, Didiereaceae, Anacampserotaceae and Talinaceae, thus reducing the family to Portulaca.
In newer phylogentic studies it turns out thatAnacampserotaceae and Talinaceae are closely related.
In the Plant theory Portulacaceae is a family in the Order Portulacales, which is placed in the Subclass Caryophyllidae. In the first version Portulacaceae was placed in Subphase 6. In Plant theory 2 it is placed in Subphase 2.
