Case by Deborah Collins
Male, 74 years old, asthma and depression.Asthma from childhood, has to use Ventolin and possibly steroids occasionally, completely against his will.
He is a homeopathic doctor, loves his work a lot.
Works a lot to not think, to feel meaningful and avoid the depression: "If I stopped working I would fall into a hole.”
Asthma started early, he attributes it to his "lack of welcome on earth".
He has done a lot of therapy related to his childhood, feeling never accepted, always being in his brother's shadow. Even as a newborn he joined someone else's shadow, his mother breastfed another baby because the mother had no milk, and he had to be bottle fed.
His brother became a medical specialist, he was pushed to work in a bank although he also wanted to study medicine. He secretly enrolled in medicine anyway, passed successfully, then became a homeopath. His parents had a low opinion of homeopathy: “That's not a profession! Do something useful, like your brother! He is a real doctor." He says: "No matter what I did, my parents only talked about my brother." They never asked me about my choices, why I loved my profession so much.
He is very adventurous, sailed across the Atlantic, walked on foot through Iran during a war.
Parents: "Just do it! "
He married several times, the first time quite briefly, the second time longer, from which he has a child. Then met the love of his life, for whom he left his wife and child. It was a scandal in the family. His parents said: “Surely you don't do that, abandoning a wife and child for a romance!" He had a very good marriage for 20 years, shared a lot, learned a lot from each other, high spiritual level. Then his wife died of cancer. He remarried, but no one can take the place of his real wife. But he doesn't dare to say that out loud, don't want to hurt my now-wife.
He says: “I hold everything back, I pretend everything is fine, but it gets in my chest. I feel trapped, I can't express myself. Even with my friends and colleagues I don't really dare to talk about myself, and certainly not about my homeopathic work. If I have to tell something at a congress, my throat slams shut, as if I have no right to speak.”
Dizziness, feeling drunk.
Poor appetite
Asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, chest feels tight.
Addiction to tobacco.
Fatigue, squirming away.
