Magnesium carbonicum Short caseThe need for respect shows up clearly in another case.
This is a woman who is easily hurt: a tone of authority is especially terrible for her (Mag). When she feels hurt (Carb) she withdraws with a sour (Mag) face. When she was young she had lots of arguments (Mag) with her mother, who called her a whore.
She was and is very stubborn (Carb) and wants to arrange everything herself. She has been married, but got divorced, because her husband did not want her to go to work (Carb). She felt a need to work, to be appreciated (Carb). In her second marriage she meets the same problem of an authoritarian husband (Mag), and she has to fight for her space and her work (Carb).
In this case we see the various characteristics of the theme of Magnesium carbonicum come up. The fight for approval as the central theme, with the fear of- and aversion to violence. She is continually fighting for her space, for the right to have her own opinion and her own work, a real need to be acknowledged.
