Content: iodine.
Taxonomy
Fucus does not belong to the Archaeplastidae but is member of the Chromalveolata. It is placed here as it is very similar to the algae in behaviour.

Throat: thyroid enlargement, goitre, hard, non-toxic, also exophthalmic; child grasps at larynx.
Lungs: loss of breath, < ascending, < menses; croup; cough membranous, hoarse, dry, < warm, wet weather, < itching low down in the lungs, behind the sternum; wheezing and sawing respiration.
Heart: palpitation, < least exertion; squeezed together; as if grasped with an iron hand.
Stomach: indigestion; empty belching, < morning.
Abdomen: flatulence; cutting pains.
Rectum: obstinate constipation, ineffectual urging, > cold milk; haemorrhage at every stool.
Male: hypertrophy of testes, prostate.
Female: hypertrophy of breasts, ovaries, uterus; breasts dwindling, flabby; leucorrhoea abundant, acrid, corrosive, staining and corroding the linen, < menses; cancerous degeneration of the cervix.
