German: Wetter Angeeigendes Drehmoosmoos.
Botany: water moss; habita moist, shady, damp soil, moist walls, crevices of rocks, after recent fires; body is green, soft, upright, about half an inch tall; rhizoids multi-cellular, branched; oblique septa; main axis upright, with spirally arranged, sessile leaves with a clearly distinguishable midrib; at the apex of the main plant axis, the antheridium is borne. This is the male part of the shoot. A lateral branch from the main plant axis bears the female shoot archegonium at its meristem.
