Gratiola officinaliCase by Maarten van der Meer
A girl of 18 years, with abdominal pain. She is dark brown from tanning, has blonde hair, and sits slightly slumped, with a slight restlessness in the eyes of a gentle but fickle adolescent. She talks openly, hangs over the table, and comes across as if she is unaware and not interested of the place she and her body occupy. For two years she has had daily stomach pains, ever since a plane trip; she was in America for a month for a language course. There everything went well, and after returning it started. Blood tests are negative. According to herself, it's the intestines. It hurts underneath, and she can't poop. She can't do pooping anywhere but at home. Pushing very hard with the elbow into the abdomen helps. It is almost every day, and a very bad attack every week, “you get used to it”. The pain attacks usually come at home, she has to lie down, it lasts 30 minutes or longer, and pushing hard in the abdomen helps. Relief: there is an urge, but 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work and gives more abdominal pain. Often she has diarrhea, sometimes the stool is hard. After bowel movements, the abdominal pain is less. She has started eating healthy without white bread and milk, with lots of vegetables and fruits. She has also started exercising a lot, this is due to a growth spurt where she has gained a lot of weight, and her whole physique has changed. She is now doing flight attendant training, which is going very well. Before this she studied business and fashion, her interest was 'fashion' and that didn't come up enough, so she stopped the training. As a child she often had stomach aches, at school, she didn't want to go to the toilet, and her parents and grandparents had irritable bowel syndrome. She loves going out, going to festivals, and doing a lot with friends, she works in a supermarket. She is calm, and doesn't get stressed: what would you worry about? Otherwise, she is healthy, occasionally she has a fever, then always comes abdominal pain with vomiting. Until a few months back she had a lot of nightmares, a lot about death.
AnalysisFashion was her preference (

Silver series), “I had to choose something and I like shopping” (
Phase 1, spontaneous, “I'm just going to try something”), traveling is fun: seeing other countries, meeting new people, looking for nice weather to enjoy:
Phase 5.
Lamiaceae: focused on friends, partying, paying close attention to whether she belongs to the 'group', also the age group of wanting new things, wanting more. Her first study was disappointing, but now she is again doing something new:
Subphase 1, not yet belonging. Within the

Subphase 1:
Plantaginaceae. Complaint is stable, she is convinced of herself and her choices, slightly haughty:
Stage 10. The starting point was the rubric: stool ameliorates. This was gone through looking for a drug that fit within the impressions described above.
Prescription:
Gratiola officinalis MK.
Follow upThe first week she still had pain but no more attacks, still diarrhea. Then the abdominal pain was over, bowel movements have been trouble-free and regular ever since. The pain remained gone. During the first month, she had many dreams about girlfriends (Labiaceae), “weird” dreams (Gratiola). Her tongue is pale, slightly indented, and clean. Gratiola has dreams on the subject of death, 'foolish', and 'nonsensical'.
Dreams often play a major role in indications from the
Silver series.
