Case by Maarten van der Meer
A 9-year-old girl, she wears a big hairband and earrings, she is detached from the world. They call her a “little butterfly. She is well-behaved and always looks at her mother before asking anything. She is a gentle, sweet girl, she is very open to other people's feelings. A “girl-girl. “Mommy, it's tight here (she points high on the forehead), it hurts, she usually says this in the evening. She is prone to both maxillary and frontal sinuses. She has headaches, sore ears, swollen glands, often foul breath, and green snot bubbles, in winter she is always congested. Because of this, she is tired, she slept from 7 pm, in the past often gritting her teeth in sleep. Her thyroid levels are lowered. She is sensitive to the atmosphere, she seeks a quiet atmosphere as confirmation for her safety. She is insecure, her parents always see in her attitude “What do you think? She is often startled, when someone is sad, she feels it too, and she goes there to comfort, she wants to get involved in everything. She likes to know everything and can think a lot about how everything works, at the museum, at school, on vacation, on visits, with games, and she goes out a lot. She is hyper mobile and does a lot of overstretching. Sometimes she is clumsy: tripping, falling. She has a large hematoma in the neck. She needs a lot of attention, shopping together, cooking. She is comfortable emotionally, and at school she is doing well. Furthermore, she is never sick, she eats and drinks well. The delivery, because of breech position a cesarean section, as a baby she had hip dysplasia and
Rs virus. “Usually I have bad dreams, well, sometimes a knight, there is. Once I was in a castle, I went there, and I thought it was a princess castle. But the knight grabbed me, that was scary. A dream about my little brother, who was caught by a witch. Also, one time I found a magic unicorn, I was the first in the whole world, and got to ride to the rainbow, to a castle.” She often listens to fairy tales at bedtime. She has trouble with boundaries, for example, when her mother treats her skin. But she doesn't let other children walk all over her, she knows what she wants. We had to teach her that, she used to let a dominant child walk all over her. She has a quiet voice and asks her mother things in a whispering tone. She does allow herself to be encouraged to say something or ask something. She understands people very quickly.
AnalysisThe dreams are remarkable, but do not have the ferocity of
Solanaceae. Shyness, which is an indication of
Stage 2-3-4. The course of childbirth fits
Stage 4. Against Composites, she does have good stability, balanced in her development, and there is no fever. The defense in general is good, the emphasis being on the sinus frontalis. The pain, which is prominent at her age, so can be a mucosal problem, this refers to the
Silver series and is analogous to
Silver series. She is quiet to still, also in mobility, she can listen expectantly, without being stuck (because she can be stimulated, literally and figuratively she can be moved). From Plant Families we looked for landmarks. “Listening looking”, sensitive, this is known from the Malvaceae and the
Malvales (at the time the Thymelaceae were included there), already thinking inside, reacting, drawing conclusions, and about to bring this out but just on the border, and whispering was previously seen Dirca-palustris. The ‘atmosphere’ the feelings about the picture of this child was leading in the analysis, leading to the Plant family, used the placement on
Stage 4 and the section pain forehead, where Dirca is mentioned.
Prescription: Dirca-palustris MK.
Follow upThe first three weeks go very well, she has no pain, the nose is not closed, and then come a few days with headache, fatigue, and sore throat. Nasal spray now gives relief, previously it did not. There is angina, she seems to be going along with this; acute reactions, which is not usual for her. She is very careful, now tells herself, fidgeting, staring to the front left, lightly in thought, “What did YOU say, Mommy do you know”. Today she also had a headache, she then has very red cheeks and is quickly sad and angry. Emotional. The headache is there when she gets up and increases during the day, the cheeks turn bright red, and this is the usual course. She reacts almost stoically, her face remains almost impassive, although inside she is visibly feeling busy a lot. During the first three weeks she was also more vital, and stronger, she slept better and had no scary dreams. The tongue is clean, the sublingual glands are enlarged. When I ask about the dreams, she replies “I had already said that, and if they are scary, I forget them very quickly. She used to be afraid to choose what she wanted or liked, 'if I choose something, I can't change it'. She grows so fast, that's why she still falls and stumbles, sometimes it's just comical to see. Mother uses adult terms, you can see her watching every time, an occasional time she can't hold back and asks what it means. Possibly this gives a great distance, a lack of understanding of the adult world, characteristic of
Stage 4. Since there was a good start with improvement, a few days were waited until the angina was over, and then she recovered. The followingyear she remained healthy.
