A woman of 67 years old, her complaints are restlessness, nervousness, mild claustrophobia. For a longer time she has also suffered from prolonged colds, splitting headaches, palpitations on top of that which frighten her greatly, a lot of night sweats. Five years ago her husband died, after a year of illness. An emotional blow, she still dreams of him, it felt like 'an amputation'. Previously she had a leading position in education, she was always very caring, a support for others despite the fact that she regularly worried whether things were going well. She comes across as decisive but careful, does take initiatives and quickly voices her opinion, because she quickly sees all the possibilities, is sure and has very good insight and overview, also of the doubts and question marks with all solutions. 'I think that's simply how it is, but just try to make the other understand that', is a frequently recurring theme and statement of hers. Even after the death of her husband, she cared for the family and mother-in-law, occasionally complaining that no one looked after her. She has always spent a lot of time on her children, this was necessary: “When you think everything is just going well, there is something new again”, was a frequently recurring statement and situation.
She naturally worked her way up in her position, was head of department at a young age, had a position that always kept giving tension, whether things would go well, she always had the feeling of having to live up to the responsibility she had. Often more to herself than to others.
In the past she was treated for sinus complaints and tension (
Aurum muriaticum helped her well).
In the past few months a few friends have died, now she feels emotionally a wreck. She is again sagging through the by-now-operated knee, and has had a cold for weeks, has for a long time been 'statically charged' and literally shoots sparks, she fell in the snow and had a blue-black leg for months.
She gets very worked up and nervous, suffers from memories: as a child she had an unpleasant psychological pressure, at a convent school sexual things were talked about and insinuated, of which the young children at the time understood nothing. “The system was so strict, you could go nowhere with your stories, not even to your parents. I always suppressed it, and only now realize it. Not being able to talk. My parents looked up to the system, you have to learn to live with it a lifetime long. Now I get nervous from it, angry: you must keep your hands off children”. She has never spoken about it. With friends she also has the tendency not to speak out, it often gives problems. She herself is a mediator, to settle quarrels and make the atmosphere good again. “They come to pour out their hearts to me, there I go again, and then I lie awake for hours at night because of it. I try to create understanding, to make peace”. In private too there is something, about which she has decided never to talk, 'it is better for everyone', with which she protects the family.
She has had a splitting headache for a while, every morning, 'banging'. A lot of night sweats. Palpitations that frightened her, to the point of a panic attack, during which her head 'burst apart', which she also had in her puberty. With the panic she suffers terribly from the neck. Often sun allergy.
Dreams are about work in the past, in the dream she walked as a widow with a baby on her arm, she was on the toilet, everyone could see it and it wouldn't work (some years ago she also often dreamed about a toilet; dirty, not being able to find one). In puberty she also had panic attacks, agoraphobia, she did get through it. As the eldest she had a lot of responsibility towards the other children, mother always held me to account for it. What she notices in contacts, is that many people do not know how they are put together. She is often on the point of saying it, but looks for the right moment. You had better say it, otherwise it gives tension. She is very sensitive to atmospheres, then feels a kind of unease. She notices it in her body, belly pain, an uncomfortable feeling. It seems as if she physically feels what someone is going through. “I go along in it, also with the news, then I think 'how would they experience it'. Can hardly detach myself from it”. She does a lot of drawing, colouring, goes to the theater.
AnalysisMalvales: Sensitive to atmospheres, not speaking out, creative, loyalty to friends, to two parties of the quarrel, decisive but vulnerable, intervening, holding back anger, occupied with art. Sensitivity, sensing, feeling as the basis of 'knowing'.
Tilia europaea: Having responsibility, pushing through, unconditional love, migraine, palpitations, fears, ideal love. Sweating, neuralgic pain.
Stage 9: Always nearly good, rescuing others (compare
Europium metallicum), there is something every time, I have it 'just not quite' in order, 'well, there I am again', it seemed to be going so well.
Follow upfour weeks: the psychic restlessness, the fear, the tension and the nervousness are gone, and “struck into the body”. The neck and shoulders were very stuck for days, she has had a week of physiotherapy for it. She now has hard stool in the morning, softer later in the day. For a while she was dizzy in waves while walking, 'more a floating feeling, as if you had no ground under your feet'. Two nice dreams, about her husband who was terribly sweet, and about her mother-in-law, who offered an apology because she had been so difficult. The sweating is over, the mucous membranes are now calm. Still slightly nervous about being on time, and whether she has told everything (she always makes a note with the complaints and reactions). The improvement mentally and emotionally is clear, the tension expresses itself in the body and disappears.
After three months: she feels relaxed, no longer depressed, feels like doing everything. The dizziness has disappeared again. “I feel psychically fantastic, the list of complaints has disappeared”. She still has a morning cough, this disappears after coffee (of Tilia it is known that headache improves through coffee).
CommentWe see in the reaction a
Phase 3 aspect, the dizziness.
Phase 3 and
Subphase 4: an uncertain basis, adapting, feeling out, and above that a love of certainty and responsibility. A tension between feeling uncertainty, adapting, and knowing certainty. Neck and shoulder girdle of the
Silver series, and the
Malvidae.
