Family
BotanyHerb or shruble; perennial; up to 35 cm high, ± densely pubescent with appressed disk-based hairs and sometimes also short glandular hairs.
Leaves: alternate: oblong, narrowly oblanceolate to oblanceolate, 2 to 17 by ± 2 mm; cuneate to attenuate at the base, acute to obtuse at the apex, with flat to involute margins.
Inflorescence: ± well developed cymes; sometimes interrupted with some flowers below the inflorescence.
Calyx: lobes equal to somewhat unequal,1 to 5 by ± 1 mm.
Corolla: usually white or yellowish, rarely bluish or reddish; funnel-shaped; regular or somewhat zygomorphic; 2 to 7 mm long; villous with yellow hairs in throat; tube glabrous or rarely pubescent outside; lobes equal or almost so, pubescent outside.
Gynoecium: style 0.6 to 1.5 mm long; with slightly 2-fid or notched sterile tip protruding 0.02–0.14 mm above the stigmas.
Fruit: nutlets whitish, beige or reddish; ovate in outline, 1 to 3 by 1 to 2 mm; tuberculate and sometimes ridged.
