Case by Jan Scholten.
Man, 60 years old, hypertension. He has hypertension, about 160 over 100, and a lack of force. He also has stitches in his heart region which goes together with lack of breath especially on exertion. He also has herpes on his lips. He had trembling hands like his father and grandfather. He has tinnitus, which comes and goes. He sleeps light and restless, often waking at 4 am.
MindHe is hypersensitive, to touch, to criticism, to excitement and especially the moves of other people. This has increased over the years.
He is very disturbed by injustice. This has been increased due to the political situation of eastern Germany and the Stasi.
FamilyHis mother was very tough and cold. She organised her household very well and worked well as a nurse for mentally handicapped children. But with her own children she was always harsh and strict. She couldn't stand weeping children and as a baby he was put outside in the cold in the winter when he was crying too much. At other times she put him in the cellar when he was crying. His mother was very restless, being too busy with her own problems. As a child, his mother was not there for him. Later he understood his mother more, but there is no emotional bond. He tried to make emotional contact, but nothing came back to him. His mother only talked about what was allowed and what was not allowed, expressing the opinion of the village. She cannot listen, only talk. She is very normative, talking about how people should be in profession and with money. Everything should be normal. His mother was sexually abused by her own father, so he understands her behaviour. That grandfather was a vicar in a small village. He had many affairs and sexual abuses. The while village knew it, but no-one spoke about it.
His father was oversensitive and easily had trembling hands. He was not a very strong person, couldn't handle very much. His father could be very impatient with him, especially when he could not understand directly with his father wanted.
There was verbal violence in the house, less physical. There was always a bad atmosphere at home. His parents didn't like one particular friend, because he was not intellectual enough for them. They probably found him too emotional. But he had him as a friend for many years.
MindAs a child had a big fear of the dark. But he had, and still has many fears: for diseases and doctors, for people, for the Stasi. He feels them as packages of fear, but they are unopened, he does not know what is in it. As a child, he felt a deep loneliness. There was violence in the house and he retreated in himself, sucking his thumb.
Lately he feels restless and fearful because he has a fear that he will lose his job. It feels like the anxiety he had as a child, overwhelming him. On looking back, it feels like a continuous state of anxiety and loneliness as a child.
At school, he was frequently bullied, about thin legs. It hurt him very much, felt like a shock. He wanted to be normal, to have a body with normal proportions and not as thin as a student, who still weighed around 55 kg at the age of 20.
He has no difficulty expressing himself, but finds it difficult to express rejection or take a contrary stance because he resonates with others in conversation. He prefers to give out positive vibrations, which often annoys him afterwards.
DreamsAs a child he had frequent nightmares. A recurring dream goes back to a science fiction film that he ‘accidentally’ saw when he was 10 or 11 years old. It was about unsuccessfully trying to get out of a situation.
As an adult he dreams about narrow tunnels where he gets stuck.
BodyHe has hypertension, about 160 over 100.
He feels melancholic in the evening. He is a morning person.

Follow upAfter five months he is doing much better. He can have sudden moments of loneliness, but gradually the attacks get shorter and less severe. They are like the loneliness from his childhood. His constant anxiety is much less. He got dreams of totally being alone, standing outside in the icy coldness with bright light. They feel like the real experience, which he didn't have in his memory, but was told by family members.
He has already opened and looked at the ‘packages of fear’. They accompany him, but since he knows what is in them, he doesn't have to open them every time. They come and he can let them pass.
The trembling hands and the tinnitus have disappeared.
His Quality of life went from 45 to 85.
Christella dentata induced attacks of anxiety, constant and overwhelming, as he had as a child. That happened 3 times, but did not resolve anything.
