Case by Jan Scholten.
Boy, 5 years old, autism. He is diagnosed with autism and Pandas, an auto-immune, allergic disease associated with streptococcus.
His speech is delayed, he speaks only single word sentences. He uses some English words, and can count. He repeats words over and over and whines a lot. He is rigid with language, repeating sentences. He makes squeaky and barking sounds. His understanding is better than speech, but not 100%.
He is diagnosed with epilepsy, but has no seizures and his EEG is normal. He has freezing states, which are worse in sunlight and in the morning and better if being touched; with it he faints, is staring, pale, sweaty, and flabby, and has a lack of muscle tension.
He has a strong allergy to food. Pork gives shortness of breath and eggs give skin rashes. A few times he had an almost deadly anaphylactic shock and ended up in hospital. Then he had cough, choking, swollen lips and eyelids, was nervous, agitated, making strange sounds and running around. Due to that risk he does not go to school.
He has Hashimoto's disease, with hypothyreoidy. He has an infection with Bartonella, and a lot of ear wax.
His pregnancy was wanted. His mother vomited heavily during pregnancy and had itching hands and stomach, due to cholestasis. She had early contractions. She feared to lose her baby, as her brother’s wife had lost a baby during pregnancy. The labour was a Caesarian section due to the cholestasis.
His mother had wanted a girl, so she was disappointed in him as a boy. He wants to be close to father and mother, to be touched and press himself to the abdomen of his mother. He adores his father and is happy to see his father come home. He can be bossy to his parents, commanding them with single words.
His mother's parents got divorced.
The maternal grandfather had a traumatic experience as a child in WW2. German soldiers came into the village in search for men. He had to be silent about the place where his father was hiding and even when they hit him in the face. He feared to be killed. Later in the day he and his mother heard a shot and his mother asked to go and see what was going on. On the edge of the forest German soldiers were forcing a man to dig a grave for another man they had shot, but was not killed. They wanted to bury him alive. He fled, but later felt guilty that he never got back to see if he could rescue the man. He always kept a strong fear of Germans. This great-grandfather had a very special connection with his great-grandson.
He likes contact and cuddling with his parents, especially with his mother. He cuddles his brother when he cries. He likes to press himself against his mother’s belly. He wants to be pressed. He presses his chin into others. He is excited when he sees children, jumping like a frog. He takes the hand of girls, or strokes their hand, but does not speak to them. He wants to be tickled in his neck and tummy. But he has not much contact with other children. He has better contact with adults than children. He is disturbed when his grandmother leaves.
He is oversensitive to noise, for instance of falling books, and especially the crying of other children. Then he covers his ears with his hands.
He is easily nervous and agitated, running around when he is allergic or hungry. He cannot cope with stress, for instance when there is lack of order. His feet are very sensitive. He does not want his hair or his toenails cut.
In general he is not aggressive, but screams when his parents don't give him what he wants. In general he is more phlegmatic.
He needs help from his parents to get dressed. He tends to pull up sleeves and trousers.
He makes gestures as if grabbing imaginary things.
He is obsessive with books and i-pads. His books need to be in perfect order. He loves to watch videos of himself and laughs when he sees himself crying. He is not an outdoor child. Generally he is phlegmatic, lying down, in a frog position.
He frequently touches his penis.

The hypersensitivity to sound diminished, but later became stronger. He did not have epileptic attacks and his ear wax diminished. Generally he is going up and down.
