3-442.15.17
Case by Joelle Smaniotto-Gorton.
Girl, 5 years old, severe cerebral palsy.Winnie's birth was fast and intense, She was blue, floppy, with a 0 Apgar. She had to have CPR and oxygen and started to breathe on her own 45 minutes later. Afterwards she underwent cooling therapy, she developed seizures. She also had meconium aspiration syndrome.
Winnie was first brought to me because she was arching and doing a lot of extensions. She is a very lovely, soft, sweet girl, always smiling and pleasing her mum and dad.
After a severe choking episode she refuses to eat by mouth and has been fed via a MIC-key bottom since. The doctors suspect silent reflux. Aconitum does not help.
She vomits easily, has repetitive urinary tract infections, daily absence seizures, and frequent generalised onset seizures. She is non-verbal.
Both great grandfathers were war prisoners of war and spent years in prison in Russia. There were sexual abuses on her maternal grandparents side.
Her dad had a very rough upbringing and was totally ignored and beaten by his mother as a child. His dad ignored him.
