Man, 23 years.This was a patient who had transitioned from female to male. Originally he was so timid he couldn’t even go to the local shop alone. He had obsessive compulsive thoughts and an internal voice that was bothering him.
He did very well on
Barium carbonicum and then
Salvinia auriculata (421.11.01)
After Salvinia he was much better. He was able to hold down a job and talk to customers and staff freely. He was much more independent and would have his ear pierced, for example, without asking his parents, which had done before.
However after Salvinia, the OCD thoughts, the compulsive thoughts couldn’t stop it, stronger- stayed like that for a couple of days.
He talks to himself, full conversations. It bothers him, he can't control it. “It distracts me from having a proper conversation with someone. Or when I am alone, like a camera following me around and talking to the camera”.
Analysis I felt he had moved on from the strong hydrogen energy and was just more in his head and cautious. I went to 3-442.13.05 (wanting to work but still feeling childish, the gender confusion and lack of confidence to really go for something). The fern is
Hemionitis palmata. This is a herma-phrodite fern which seemed to fit my patient well. Hemionitis comes from the Greek meaning ‘Ass’s ear’. His mother would describe how he would walk a few steps behind them when out. This reminded me of a donkey reluctantly being led.
Follow upHe went to a work Christmas party, was great fun. His brother came too, before he wouldn’t have gone, he chatted with everyone. Felt confident.
Went to Christmas market- went off alone and would never have gone off alone in past. Parents were amazed. Also he walked with his parents, not a few steps behind.
Feeling better talking to people at work, he now will approach customers instead of waiting for them to approach him. Before the Hemionitis he still had some confidence issues about work and was going to reduce his hours, but after the remedy he took on extra hours at work.
Before the ferns the idea of working would have been impossible.
