Genus: monotypic.
Region: Korea.
Use: endangered.
Taxonomy: related to Forsythia, but has white flowers.
Botany: deciduous shrub, to 2 m tall; leaves opposite, simple, ± 8 cm long, ± 4 cm wide, pubescent both above and below; flowers white, fragrant, ± 1 cm long, with a four-lobed corolla, in early spring before leaves appear; fruit is a round, winged samara, 3 cm diameter.
Use: ornamental.
