Magnesium muriaticum
1-233.72.02Case 4Young girl, age 0.
She comes because of a recurrent cystitis since age 3 and involuntary loss of urine day and night. She has had frequent treatments with antibiotics. She lives with her mother since she was 2 and a half- year, after her parents divorced. She is, according to her mother, a sweet, sensitive, obedient girl. She is also very emotional and easily saddened. Cannot stand quarrels, has a soft character.
Fears: scary movies, big dogs, spiders, dark, being abducted. When asked about a movie she still could remember, she told me a story about a mother and daughter that lived as vagabonds. Then the mother said to the child that she’s going to buy some bread. The truth is that she had agreed with the orphanage that they would come and take her daughter away. Desires: spinach with egg, spaghetti, eggs, French fries, Chinese food, sweets. Aversion: mayonnaise, butter, spicy food, and cabbage. Most happy event of her life: She answers that she has never been very happy. Then she added that when she got a pussycat was a happy moment. Also going on holidays lately has been nice.
Most distressful event of her life: To have a quarrel with her mother because she is afraid the mother will send her out into the streets and then she will be alone and have nothing to eat. Here we see a girl in my opinion still traumatised by her parents’ divorce. She suppresses herself by being very obedient, sweet and doing anything the mother would want (she has a very loving mother) out of fear of being left alone in the world. The only being she really trusts is her pussycat; he would never abandon her!AnalysisThe story of the distressful event of her life resumes both the theme (mother) and the emotion (fear of being abandoned). The theme mother made me think of the Muriaticum. The forsaken emotion, brought me to Magnesium.
I had given her Pulsatilla. previously without results based mostly on the information the mother passed on to me, but after my talk with her I gave her Magnesium muriaticum M and later 10M. The symptoms improved gradually and after a few months they ceased completely.
Needless to say that she no longer is an easy, loving and obedient girl!!
