642.17.17 Papaver somniferum, CaseCase by Alex Leupen.
Man, 67, fear cancer.
‘Memento mori’.
He thinks he has cancer after his urologist did not explain what the increased amylase in the blood means. He has persistent thoughts of cancer.
He is a pastor and he is very philosophical. He observes and talks about people’s lives and their fears with regard to death. Dying is not a problem for him, it is a “good-bye”. He wants to be together with the sick and it feels good when the dying can share the pain. It is an encounter with the dying, they tell you their secrets and you are looking for new ways. He is always at peace when accompanying the dying, philosophical and wise.
But when he is sick his peace is gone, he gets fixed on his death.
