Name: Merophragma terrestre; Raynaudetia mediterranea.
Genus: 1 species.
Region: Greece, Crete, Cyprus, Syria, Turkey, Iran, NW, Caucasus, Pakistan.
BotanySmall glabrous herb; annual or perennial.
Stems: woody base; many, simple, procumbent.
Leaves: greyish green; ± 5 by 1 mm; elliptical to obovate, sharp; underneath a prominent central rib.
Inflorescence: lax, slender.
Flower: sepals 3-4 mm, oblong-linear, obtuse, green with scarring margins; petals as long as sepals; recurved styles. Fruit: capsule of 3 mm.
Seeds: few; less than 1 mm, sometimes with flattened side, reddish brown, ± granulated.
TaxonomyTelephium and Corrigiola form the tribe Corrigioleae. Corrigioleae were also placed in the family Molluginaceae. The Apg classification place it in Paronychiae, Caryophyllaceae.
