The Pythia says he has to perform 10 labors in order to release his guilt and become immortal. The weak Eurystheus will give him the tasks. Heracles is full of mortification that he, the strong and mighty one, has to obey the weak, frail and fearful Eurystheus, but there’s no other choice.
