A middle-aged man has severe, chronic lumbago. This problem has been relapsing for 18 years. He is a doctor who frequently changes job. He has an interest in homeopathy but wavers a lot. He wants another job, but cannot decide and has hesitated for years. His main problem is he must be independent, but at the same time he is insecure and needs a strong and exceptional teacher who leaves him a high degree of freedom. He has a job where he works with a kind of Guru who invented his own orthopedic method. He wanted to start his own practice for many years but has never yet done it.

AnalysisThere are many aspects pointing to
Stage 3: frequently changes job; wavers a lot; cannot decide; has hesitated for years; insecure; needs a strong teacher. His desire for independence points to
Lanthanides. This is confirmed by: exceptional teacher, guru, desires freedom, interest in homeopathy.
All together this leads to
Lanthanum metallicum.
Follow upYttrium and Gelsemium were formerly quite good for him. But
Lanthanum was great. Immediately after the remedy the lumbago moved downwards to the leg and caused weakness in the leg for a week, then it subsided. Over 10 days he changed his whole situation. He contacted another doctor friend and decided to cooperate with him in a private clinic. They rented a flat together which was suddenly available. He left his old job and was surprised himself how easily he has made decisions about things where he otherwise would have hesitated for years.
After six months he began to wake up every night around 4 o'clock, worrying how to deal with his patients of the coming day.
Lanthanum MK gave him a relapse of his lumbago for one day. The anxiety about his patients remained. He dreamt of reconciliation with his guru, whom he had left. He felt uncertain how to go on having started his independent career. After
Cerium 200 this anxiety disappeared.
One year later he's doing fine
