Cure 9, Duration 6
A boy of 8 years of age had eczema, since birth. It’s located in the hollow of his elbows and knees (3), arms, legs, neck, buttocks, wrist and face sometimes. It’s worse from hazelnuts, chocolate and playing in the grass.
He also has from time to time affections of the air passages. He had pseudo croup twice. He has frequent coryza with dry or rattling cough and asthmatic breathing. The coryza goes together with restlessness, loss of concentration and fatigue. It’s worse at 3 am and better from lying on his back.
He does what he wants, even when it’s forbidden. He knows how to get what he wants and screams to get his way. He’s angry when scolded by one of his 3 elder brothers, or when he’s not allowed to join their games. He has the feeling of not being taken into account, being belittled. He stamps his feet when told that he cannot do something, screaming “I can do it”. He cannot stand being teased by his father. He has an aversion to playing with younger children, preferring elder children that he can learn from.
His intellectual development has been quite rapid. School is easy. He’s easily bored, even though he’s one of the younger pupils in the class. He’s serious, also at the consultation, afraid that he won't describe his complaints well enough. He has a quiet manner and likes to read a lot. He’s ambitious.
He cannot stand being alone, especially being without his mother. He has been left 2 times, which made him very upset.
He’s cheerful and lively and talks a lot.
He’s imprudent.
Dream: fire in the woods and the garden.
Fear: dark, alone, storm, thunder, thieves.
Fear: parents will die.
Pregnancy: mother had asthma, hay fever and desire for sweets.
Labor: artificially induced one week prematurely due to meconium in the amniotic fluid. For 2 to 3 weeks the mother had contractions in the morning. He had a bloated face and swollen eyes.
Eructations obstructed after birth.
Warts in his axillae.
Weather: < cold eastern wind.Desire: cheese (3), pasta (2), milk (2), bread, meat, fruits, melon, strawberries, pears
Food: < hazelnuts, chocolate.
Aversion: warm food, lettuce.
AnalysisThis boy has been under treatment for 8 years since his birth, mostly for the same problem. Many remedies were given with only palliative effect.
The most characteristic aspect is his desire to be taken into account, to be someone. The way he handles it is like he wants to prove that he’s someone. Although he doesn't use the word “prove”, he fights for his position, wanting to show he “can do it”. These are indications for
Stage 6.
He wants to prove that he’s someone, an individual. That indicates the
Lanthanides. The
Lanthanides are also confirmed by his rapid intellectual development.
The complaint of eczema points to the
Carbon series. His quiet attitude most strongly indicates Carbon. Together this leads to
Neodymium carbonicum.
One can confuse the situation also with Nitrogen, wanting to be the best. But he just wants to be someone and that’s more Carbon.
ConfirmationsLanthanides: intellectual development fast, school is boring.
Gold series: serious, -> meat.
Carbon series: < dark, < alone, < without mother, fear thieves, -> milk.
Follow upAfter
Neodymium carbonicum MK the cure starts. His eczema is much better after 1 month and disappears fast after that. Emotionally he can say what he wants instead of having to scream and stamp his feet as in the past. His fears are greatly diminished after a month.
He gets 3 repetitions of the remedy and 2 years later he’s still doing fine.
