by Willem Woutman
A man of 50 has asthmatic bronchitis. He has shortness of breath and cough on exertion. It’s worse in autumn and winter, worse from wet and cold weather and worse from exertion. In December, he often develops pneumonia, which starts with coryza and then goes deeper into the air passages. Sun and heat are beneficial and he can avoid pneumonia by going skiing or going to the Canary Islands. He has had this problem all his life and it’s a family disease, especially in his father’s family. His latest attack of pneumonia was again in December but was also provoked by stress at his work. He’s working in a marketing and advising company, managing people. He invents plans for other companies in trouble. His last task was the reorganization of a big company. He figured out a very good solution, a big trick that also worked out very well. His boss then wanted him to do the same for 9 other companies. But that’s not his style as he has a big aversion to routine. He’s more the thinker, the inventor. When his boss asked him to do the same again he felt used. He just doesn't want to be used this way.
He’s very good in his work. He’s good at devising plans and persuading people to implement them. When he works, he works very hard, sometimes even 60 hours a week or more. He also needs time off, so he managed to get the freedom to work for 9 months and then have 3 months off.
He hates routines or repetition. He wants to do different things, the best bits. He wants to be "hang loose", to play at the “outside left” position. He’s absolutely not rooted or fixed. He’s always hurried and impatient and likes to keep at least 3 balls in the air. He always wants to start things, he desires the challenge and the motion. His problem is sometimes that he does the things only till they’re almost finished. He’s very clever, likes to read and learn. He prefers the city to the countryside. Nature makes him restless. He prefers people who are brilliant. He’s critical but flexible.
His father was absent in his childhood because he died early from lung cancer. That is probably why he likes to work with someone above him who supports him. He wants to be “an independent son with a strong visionary father”. His boss at his work is like that. He also worked for 10 years as a professor at the university and there was a similar situation where he had a small department with a more senior professor above him. It was perfect but he left because he got bored with it.
His mother was very controlling and that gave rise to conflicts from the age of 12. At 17 he left home and went to Paris.
He has had Lyme's disease and was treated with doxycycline.
Weather: -> heat (3), -> sun (3), -> sea (3), <- rain, becoming wet (3).
Desire: fussy with food, cheese (3), beef, milk.
Aversion: fish.
AnalysisHe’s the wise guy, the inventor who devises great solutions. That’s the theme of
Europium. The
Lanthanides are seen very clearly in his strong desire for freedom and being his own boss. That it’s not
Gold series as such can be seen from the fact that he’s not a real leader. He doesn't want the responsibility of that; he would prefer to have a strong visionary father to handle those problems.
Stage 9 can also be seen in the fact that he’s not always finishing things, he does them until they’re almost (!!) finished.
Oxygen is indicated by the feeling of being used. And he feels used when he has to do routine things and cannot think and invent new things, which indicated the
Europium.
Together this leads to
Europium oxydatum.
ConfirmationsLanthanides: < dominating mother, -> varying things, -> being free, clever, -> sun, -> meat.
Follow upThree days after
Europium oxydatum he felt completely rested. He had no complaints anymore, as if he had been in the sun for a week. He felt absolutely perfect. He also freed himself from the task of implementing his ideas in 9 other companies. Nine months later he’s still doing well, without any complaints.
The first prescription was Natrum silicatum MK. He did very well on it for one year. He had no coryza, he could keep diseases at bay. Then when the winter came he got bronchitis again and Natrum silicatum didn't help. He was definitely doing better, but wasn't cured. The scores for Natrum silicatum are: Width 2, Depth 3,
