Habitat: riparian forests; waste places, dwarf forests near seashores, thickets, montane forests, stream sides; elevations from sea level to 1100 metres.
Use: tubers medicinally; ornamental; edible; seeds for coagulating milk.

Root: tuberous rootstock.
